However functionality and safety seems to have gone astray in picture seven where a flat screen tv his been mounted so close to a gel fire. Despite the fact that the featured fire does not have a high radient heat output, I think it would have a significant detrimental effect on the lifespan of the TV. It always seems a good idea to merge two focal points of the room together. But unfortunately, practicality should win over design and TV's should never be mounted above a fire.
