Leather Covered Pendant Fixtures – Cadre from Kreon

Cadre is a pendant lighting fixture that follows the Kreon’s focus on harmony between lighting and architecture. The whole concept of the lighting is based on two identical aluminum extrusions connected with an adjustable suspension system that is covered with leather. There are three variants of leather available: black, white and red. Aluminum parts are finished in natural or black anodized aluminum or in chrome finish. With its coloring and thickness, Cadre is very nice companion for contemporary living or public spaces. It’s equipped with a 15mm deep-set high efficient dark light louvre or frosted glass. Each model is available in three lengths: 900mm, 1200mm and 1500mm. Cadre is designed by Kristof Pycke for Kreon.

This lamp combined with table, called Sognibelli and designed by GUMDESIGN for Zeroombra. It takes shade lamp and simple shelf and turns them in modern white, or colored nightstand. The lamp use LED light technology so it’s energy efficient while still could help you in usual evening tasks. It could be mounted near the side of a bed to create enough light to read books and hold eyeglasses or other small stuff. It also could be very useful near the home entrance by holding keys and giving light to put your shoes. If you like when furniture is not only practical but also stylish, Sognibelli is right for you. All you need is to put bulbs on the floor without setting and join in sequence in a easy and safe way. The movable installation permits to change the lighting as per your needs. Can be used also on the inside as courtesy light by night or as lighting accent by the indoor plants. There are different kinds of bulbs available: double LED white/white, blue/blue, white/blue, white/ambre, ambre/ambre. The frame is made of aluminum with upper cover of metacrylic. If you want to put spectacular light on your ceiling, likes chandeliers but want something more modern than antler chandaliers than Brindilles from Ligne Roset could be an option. Brindilles is the chandelier made of fiber optic cables and 108 LED lights which all are stitched together in a white plexiglass fitting. The height of the chandelier range from 59” to 59” of optical fibres plus 39 1/2” of cables. Can you imagine how spectacular would be look of the Brindilles hanging alone in a dark room?

IKEA Solar Lightings for Summer 2009

IKEA began to promote their new products with new Summer 2009 catalog. They already could be seen on their site here and some sites already get the catalog. Beginning in summer 2009 Ikea starts to sell solar lights. That’s just one more example than green technologies become more and more popular. On pics below you can see some examples: 5-stick SOLIG solar cell LED light chain, SOLIG solar-operated half globes, battery-operated mushroom shaped SOLIG lighting and the battery powered cylindrical SOLIG lantern. The pictures come from sneak peak by MoCo Loco. All solar lights could be found on Ikea site already although they aren’t available to buy yet. Graffititek bookshelf is a new design by French designer Charles Kalpakian. It’s inspired by Parisian Graffiti art and aims to offer new perspective on the craft by reinterpreting it in a three-dimensional way. There aren’t standard straight lines of traditional bookshelves and all book titles will be in distort order if you put them there. It also come with mounted light lamps which have the books looks. Besides helping to choose book in the dark they also create a very dramatic effect.

If you like to read a nice book before going to sleep than you definitely have some kind of night lamp near your bed. Although you probably have a problem like me, where to put book after the reading and how to bookmark it. Studio Smeets Design in Amsterdam designed a product which could solve all that troubles. It’s called Lili Lite. With usual manual switch for turning on-off the lamp Lili Lite has more smart system. If you want to turn off the light, you’ll have to put an open book on the shelf as pictures, and a sensor will turn off the light for you. When the book is picked up again, the light automatically turns on.
