Three Level Waterfront Modern Home – Bainbridge Island Residence

This residence is designed by BUILD LLC on Bainbridge Island, Washington. The three-level waterfront home has modern design optimized for the family lifestyle. Family activities, entertaining, exercising, wine-making and kayaking on Murden Cove below are those activities that the family do in their free time. The house emphasizes frame views, strategic privacy and the filtration of light, while effectively integrating the sloping site with the surrounding landscape and exterior terraces. Interesting material combination was used in the house’s structure. Wood, concrete and glazing could be seen near by from every side of the building. Inside, wood is prioritized to create the feeling of the comfort and cosy living. [BUILD LLC]

Family Beach House on a Long Narrow Site by BDA Architecture

BDA Architecture are those who designed this beach house located in the Miami suburb of Australia’s Gold Coast. It occupies a long narrow site 10m wide x 50m deep across the road from the ocean. The front side of the house contains a garage and entry at ground level, a living area on the first floor and a master suite on the second floor. Of course, the living area and the master suite both has terraces overlooking the ocean. The back side of the house contains bedrooms and a second living area which opens into the courtyard and pool. Courtyard is designed to be sheltered from the breezes and other winds. [BDA Architecture]

Stunning Tropical Seafront House on a Small Site

This stunning tropical house is one of those houses that has almost perfect location. It’s overlooking Playa La Isla in Peru and only 5 minutes walk separates it from the beach. The home is designed to connect owners with a beautiful landscape around. Half of it is fully closed from street looks while other one is fully opened to awesome views of the ocean. Besides ground-floor patio there is a rooftop terrace which also fronts the ocean. Even though the house isn’t looks big it features 4 bedrooms and 6 bathrooms for the owners and guests. The house become a great place not only for holidays but also for living with contemporary needs. The house designed by Juan Carlos Doblado on a very small site of 209 sqm.

Detached From The Ground House In The Canopy Of Trees

This house is located in the beautiful area near Sao Paulo, Brazil. Designed to be a pavilion supported only by five columns, the home has bedrooms, a living room, dining room and balconies facing a pool overlooking the beautiful beach of Guaruja. The house become a great holiday house for a family with two kids who likes to have a guests. Even though the site is really beatiful it wasn’t easiest place for construction. A structural 18m deck above the ground was used as an artificial foundation. Above this deck the whole building is made of metal. The house only has two floors and is accessible from the second one because it’s attached to the street. The first volume features housekeeper’s house, kitchen, service-area, steam bath, gym and four bedrooms. This house is one of those houses that makes architects to be proud of their work. Light and Airy White House Design in the First Line of a Coastline

This house is located on amazing site in the first line of a beautiful coastline of Mallorca. It’s designed by Jaume Riera and Joan Francisco Barceló Ascoli architects in very light and airy style. It’s accessible from both the sea and a back street. The ground floor is designed to enjoy panoramic views of the Mediterranean sea and of the nearby Cabrera island. There is everything needed for a comfortable holiday and living in the house. The design is very well planned. For example, a large courtyard that the house has is protected by service areas and walls from all sides. It features pines that were one the site before the construction. The sea front area is very well protected from the sunlight withot losing ability to catch great views through large glazing. The house’s interior is also great. It’s natural, comfortable and yet contemporary. The place is a real dream to live in.

Beach House That Consumes Less Energy Than It Provides

Cannon Beach Residence is designed by Nathan Good Architect with sustainability in mind. It is located on the Oregon beach and provides more energy that it consumes. That is possible because of 5kWh rooftop photovoltaic system and 12-inch-thick concrete walls. There are also solar-thermal tubes that provide hot water and a ground-source heat pump that warms and cools the air. The house is L-shaped and wrapped around Sitka spruce that’s 38 inches in diameter. Recycled materials were used during construction and the house is designed to last multiply generations. It perfectly blends into the forested hillside thanks to its sedum-sprouting green roof. One side of the house has views of Haystack Rock while the other – views of the beach. A lot of windows provide the house with plenty of the natural light. [Nathan Good Architect]

Two Houses on Adjacent Sites – Thorp Houses by Pete Bossley Architects

This project is one of those rare works when there is a need to design two houses on adjacent sites. The buildings are simple in form but different in plan and materials. Even though they looks like in harmony with each other they aren’t symmetrical. They both are about 500 square meters and have two stories. They have stretched form to create intimate courtyards filled up with light with canals filled up with flowing water. A rich variety of spaces exist within the buildings, ranging from double-height living areas open to the sea views, to more internalised lounges nestled into falling land at the more road end of the sites. Three Levels House on the Slope – Whale Beach House

Whale Beach House which was designed by Rachel Neeson and Nick Murcutt just recently wan presitgious Australian award called Wilkinson Award for Residential Architecture. It was given by the Australian Institute of Architects during 2009 NSW Architecture Awards. The house is a three level weekend residence situated on quite problematic site. It took three levels on the slope which all have their own outdoor areas. The coastal panorama and the forest behind it are things that make this house great place to connect owners family and their friends. This house with stunning views is located right near to Tatapouri Point in New Zealand. Not only ocean but bay’s views too are presented in it. This house is situated right on the edge of the hill so all views are easy to access. It’s simple, single storey structure which won many New Zealand’s architecture awards. T-shaped plan with two wings characterize it. With such plan the house is very comfortable for the whole family living there. It also protects outdoor area from ocean winds without losing in openness and transparency. The outdoor area is not only interesting because it’s protected but also by its design. Small level differences make everything there look cool and unique. The house is designed by Pete Bossley.
