Beach Retreat For Relaxation In A Eucalypti Wood

What can be more relaxing than a wood of old eucalypti and ancient angophoras around your house? Especially when it’s located at the edge of a delightful beach? Pretty Beach House is located in Australia, just north of Sydney, in one of the most relaxing places in the world, to my mind. The décor is simple and strong, with tub chairs in vintage leather, 1930’s travel trunks, hand crafted tables – it’s modern with some touches of rustic and colonial styles. The color scheme is white, chocolate brown and natural wood; the windows are big to be integrated into the nature around. Local artists have taken advantage of the fallen angophora branches and created sculptures that feature throughout. The retreat would give you inspiration, you can communicate with nature right in the house.

Modern Masculine Beach House Design

Not many beach houses are as moody and masculine as this one. Although that isn’t a problem when it comes to bringing the outside in. The designers used modern materials, furniture and art to make this home a real urban oasis. The epitome of indoor-outdoor living with rich timber floors & bamboo gardens brought together via glass bi-fold doors. The whole lower level is open and focused on relaxing at piece. Private bamboo gardens leads to the pool in the courtyard and protects from the sun.

Amazing Contemporary Coastal House With A Rooftop Lap Pool

This 3,600 square feet beach house is designed by Hughes Umbanhowar Architects. It’s nestles in the interstices between waterfront and road along a narrow site on the northern coast of Jupiter Island, Florida. The house is designed in modern style and is both a quaint coastal cottage and a chic isle villa. The house is separated on three areas: the sleeping one, the entertaining space, and the contemplative living space. Each segment is sensitively oriented to capture light and views. The ceramic fritted glass of the kitchen and dining room lends translucency and visual play to the south-facing two-story entertaining space. The textured face of the north-facing sleeping area underscores the ancient wisdom of worn stone, an apt sensibility for an intimate space infused soft morning light and its concomitant tranquility. The rooftop lap pool to take in the views to the east and south. Whether viewed above or below, the compelling gesture of the pool provides a visual and visceral link to the thin wavering line of twilight at dusk, or the vast cerulean midday expanse. During the day, the cool azure of the water is transmitted and transmuted into the living space through skylights embedded in the pool floor. The dynamic interplay of light and shadow invigorates the space below. Situated on the beach, the house affords direct access to the water, reinforcing the immediacy of the relationship to site and the spontaneity of island living.

This beach house is something that can help you remember the time of hippies. All its rooms are extremely colorful and there is even one that is decorated with sings of piece. Even though times of hippies are long gone the house is still an extremely chic place. One weekend there could help to forget about all problems of adult lifestyle, to become a child once again and to relax as you’ve never relaxed since your childhood. Of course, that works not only for chics. The stripper pole in one of the rooms could easily make some man’s evening very pleasant and fun.

Casual And Comfortable Black Beach House – SheOak by Base Architecture

SheOak House, designed by Base Architecture, is located in Kingscliff, New South Wales, Australia. The black box on a beach-front lot is designed in informal, casual, comfortable and welcoming style. The 350 square meter house is done in mix of steel, timber and concrete. It’s resistant to such weather conditions as wind, salt and sun. The double height entry with grass underfoot and natural landscape consists of a semi indoor/outdoor space constructed of clear weatherboards. The area is designed for the wetsuit to be abandoned into the concealed laundry and for racking the surfboards. The ground level has a quite simple open plan and opened up to a courtyard and a pool. Upstairs consists of simple bedroom and bathroom facilities that interact with the ground level and entry via a series of voids and openings. Overall this house evokes openness and a casual sensation that typifies what a beach house should be.

Modern and Airy Beach House Renovation – p_House by Ras-a

The p_House is designed by Ras-a and located in Redondo Beach, a greater Los Angeles area beach city. It’s a renovation of a small post war house into a modern living and working home for a young couple. Due to budget constraints as well as environmental regard, the original house was recycled as much as possible. The majority of interior walls where removed or relocated; allowing the living, kitchen, and dining area to be one fluid space. A fourteen foot wide sliding glass door pockets out of site, extending the space outside to a revamped back yard and swimming pool. This outdoor living area becomes the focal point of the new design, while making the modest size of the interior feel more expansive. A bedroom, a bathroom, and the one car garage are the only rooms that keep their original location.

The use of clerestory windows on the south elevation prevent views of the busy street, while still bringing in breezes and framing the tops of nearby palm trees. The north elevation, which faces the back yard and pool, has floor to ceiling windows providing the interior with an abundance of diffused natural light. High solar reflective roofing, light colored cement board siding, and a well insulated building envelope add to the passive solar design. This along with the use of high efficiency ceiling fans, eliminates the need for A/C. A clean burning modern stove reduces heating loads during the colder months. Other sustainable building materials and methods used include a tankless water heater, FSC certified cedar, low V.O.C. paints, bamboo flooring, and xeriscape yards.

Modular Holiday Home of Both a Strong Architectural Character and Economy

This holiday home was an exploration in how to create a building of both a strong architectural character and economy. It’s designed by Parsonson Architects and located on Pekapeka Beach, New Zealand. The building is a modular rectangle construction with a very simple form. The plan is a rectangle and is divided into 3 parts, the solid bedroom forms at each end support a floating roof over the living space in between. This layout allows the living room to face both east to hills and west to the sea. It allows sun into the house throughout the day, for passive solar heating of the concrete slab and creates a sheltered outside space on the east side that still keeps a strong connection to the western sea views. { Parsonson Architects }

Beach House With Unexpected Views of Hillsides Instead of the Ocean

Designed by dRN Architects this beach house doesn’t have a direct view of the ocean, so it’s oriented towards a more unexpected landscape. The open horizon of the Pacific has been replaced by the view the near hillsides to the west, and to the protected space defined by a group of preexisting trees. This independent backyard, isolated from the intense summer life of the beach town of Cachagua, offers a calmed retreat to take distance from the city. Here, the close relation to topography stimulates spontaneous exterior circulations between rooms, giving the same relevance to the interior life of the house as to the exterior events, trying to enhance the informal condition of the beach house and the possibility of a life “outdoors”.

House Shaped as a Furniture Set With a Stunning View of The Sea

This house belongs to the famous Danish furniture architect Rud Thygesen. It was originally built in 1957 but later expanded toward the sea with a semicircle to match the architect’s furniture design of an amazing set of dining chairs and a circle shaped table. The white villa is located on the coast and features not only stunning views of the sea but also amazing views of greenness around.
