Zen-like Home That Looks and Feels Like a Resort

A lot of luxury homes have such memorable designs that everybody dream of live there and get inspiration for their own homes from them. This house designed by Dane Design Australia is a perfect example of such design. Located on a large site it consists of several separated pavilions focused on ten acres of deep clear water. The zen-like design is chosen in order to make the home feel and function like a resort. It has garden courts, gymnasium, spa and pool like every other resort. Public and private spaces are separated by open and closed breezeways. All pavilions are done in rich natural materials. [ DDA ]

10650 Square Feet Home With Cool Terrace And Intimate Garden Of Palm Trees

This gorgeous 10650 square feet house is located on a 17250 square feet lot near the Sierra Madre mountains. It’s clad in brown/black volcanic stone, IPE wood, white stucco and steel. There is quite a big pool near by and a terrace above it. They both are protected from sun and neighbors with two massive oak trees. There is also a cool intimate garden of palm trees that could be viewed as from living room as from dining and family areas. The site’s topography wasn’t ideal so there are a lot of subtle level changes between rooms that only add interest to the interior design. Darwin Martin House complex in Buffalo, New York is one of a Frank Lloyd Wright’s masterpieces. The complex is created during his Prairie House period and consists of 6 buildings: 15,000 square feet Martin’s house, Barton House for Martin’s sister, 100 foot pergola, the conservatory, the carriage house/garage/stable with a chauffeur’s apartment on the second level, and the gardener’s cottage. The design of the whole complex is integrated with nature as much as possible. Low roofs with gentle slopes, cantilevered overhanging eaves, banded windows are those things that characterize it. Amazing Modern Loft Design in NY – Kimball Loft

This full floor & roof space were renovated to create one large loft space. Large Living room, kitchen & dining areas, office, two separate bedrooms, two and a half bathrooms, sauna, and dressing rooms are all perfectly integrated. Using flush door panels and clerestory glass, the design allows the entire arched ceiling to be visible and allows all 28 windows to be apparent from every space in the apartment. A steel and wood stair allows access to the roof, with roof top hot-tub, outdoor fireplace, kitchen and lounge areas. The layout of both the roof and the interior spaces were optimized to dramatize views across the rivers to New Jersey and Long Island, and the views up and down Broadway. [Rangr Studio]

Luxury Beach House in Dominican Republic – Casa Kimball

Casa Kimball is a private beach house get-away and luxury rental villa located on the North coast of the Dominican Republic. It’s positioned on a cliff with an awesome panoramic view of the Atlantic Ocean. Even though it has great terraces, infinite edge pool, outdoor jacuzzi and tall windows it is designed to be protected from views of neighboring villas. The interior spaces merge with exterior spaces, all of which are designed to allow ocean breezes under shade from the sun, throughout the year. The villa is about 20,000 square feet, and includes two indoor and two outdoor lounges, a dining room with a view centered on the pool out to the ocean, and an outdoor bar area.

The 45m long pool form the center piece of Casa Kimball is one of its main features. Every room in the house has a view of the infinity edge and ocean beyond. Three different levels of platforms within the pool allow guests to lie flat in the water, sit and lounge. Using a deep blue slightly reflective tile, the pool’s surface changes color to match the ocean. Swimming in the pool out toward the ocean creates the illusion of being in the ocean itself, one sees nothing but the endless horizon where water meets sky. [Rangr Studio]

Two Condominiums Remodeled into One Modern Luxury Living Space

Watermark Tower Condominium is the project that combined two separate condominiums into one living space. During the combining both condos were reconfigured to suite best their owner. Thick walls were used to hide plumbing risers delineate the public living spaces from the more intimate master and guest suites. Combining what were bedrooms in separate units, the new living room occupies the full width of the building’s east bay enabling 180 degree city views. Brazilian cherry is the material that create the mood when somebody enters the new condominium. Details of blackened steel provide a tensile contrast to the solidity of the wood and plaster walls. Shingle Style Family Vacation Retreat House

Shingle style houses found in New England’s seaside resorts at the turn of the century inspired the design of this family vacation retreat. The house is overlooking a lake and is made of stone and wood cladding. Thanks to that and asymmetrical lines of its roof and walls blends naturally into the landscape. From a dramatic two-story dining room at its center, the plan curves gently toward the lake, affording light and panoramic views of the water to both wings of the home. As the exterior as the interior they both done with touches of luxury. In a playful touch, a blue light in the roof-top cupola has become a nighttime landmark for residents of the lake.
