The extension is constructed from glass and Prodema Lignum, an architectural cladding material made from resin-bonded cellulose fiber, covered in a wood veneer and an acrylic finish. The Prodema panels are very durable and weather resistant, not to mention very modern in look and design.

The interface is designed to be as simple as possible. It uses groups of low power LED’s, glowing from green to red (as power use increases) to indicate devices in the system. A central screen which can be slid over the top of any of these groups of LED’s is used to give more detailed feedback.

Harlequin serves both function and aesthetics. The shape of Harlequin was greatly influenced by the Cirque du Soleil’s quirky characters, fantasy tales and dreams.
