Even nowadays there is plenty of space to design something new and creative. Italian company, Gartenkultur, managed to do that and come up with a very nice idea of making planters from recycled books. There are planters as made of big fat hardback books as of a stack of slim comic books. All of them has a hole drilled inside them with a mesh net at the bottom and some dirt on it.
