The Ribbon House is located at the Perth’s fringe, beautifully oriented north, and overlooking a perfect circular body of water. Main aim of the Hartree + Associates Architects was to eliminate dark interiors typical of small lot development. Glass living room block projects out dramatically over the landscape to become an open verandah. Mid level is the primary living space connected to the verandah with generous openings and arranged around a chiseled out breezeway adjacent the vertical circulation core. The house’s roof is what easily could seduce the attention passing public and the neighborhood. With this house, Hartree + Associates Architects demonstrated the ability to provide a quality home on a small allotment.
