Many different and sometimes unusual things can inspire a designer. The piece we are sharing today is inspired by geometry and to some extent architecture, and it’s Alysoid by Japanese designer Ryosuke Fukusada.

Alysoid is an arch, which was widely used in many architectural creations including the works of Gaudi. This suspension lamp collection realizes this concept: it is the curve formed by a flexible chain suspended from its endpoints. The chains themselves are made of small spheres, which are seen more typically in fashion and jewelry design. When the light touches the hanging bracelets, a charming atmosphere is evoked through an ocean of ever-changing and moving glimmers. A volume of air and light fills the space inside the suspension, enabling people to view through the installation and help ensure the design fully integrates within the interior. The result is a unique fixture with a jewelry feel that is creating an interplay of texture, air and light.

The Alysoid light is crafted from an aluminum structure, available in anthracite grey, with a high performance LED at its heart. As well as a choice of chains in either a glossy black nickel or natural brass finish, the lighting composition is made of four different models: small, medium or two large versions.
