Monti Silvestri Clock Of Basalt From Volcano Etna Eruption

Monti Silvestri Clock Of Basalt From Volcano Etna Eruption

Natura Fossilium collection of furnishings by Studio Formafantasma – bowls, vases, boxes, tables, and clocks – is unique because of the materials used: materials derived from the lava from the 2013 eruption of Mount Etna in Sicily, as an exploration of the link between tradition and local culture. I’d like to tell you about a particular piece – Monti Silvestri Clock that tells time with brass fittings circling a crater of powdered volcanic rock, set on a base of lava-formed basalt, witness to the impact of eruption on the place where it occurred. The clock looks really unique: minimalist though very emotional because of basalt, what a contrast!
