Located at Olympic Manor neighborhood in Seattle this house shows owners love to mid-century modern aesthetic design combined with industrial materials. Originally built in 1950’s this house was recently renovated with addition of kitchen on the first floor, family room and desk above a new daylight basement with a master bedroom suite. The family includes three young boys so as additional areas as better access from both upper and lower floors to the rear yard were necessary. Better territorial views and bringing natural light to the existing part of the house were also achieved. The addition was primarily constructed of glass, aluminum, exposed concrete and galvanized steel. Only its roof is made of wood in order to look better with the existing one. [BAAN Design]
