Rottedam Villa Melting Old And New Together

Rotterdam Villa Melting New And Old Together

This villa by Ooze Architects is called Rotterdam.  It’s a big 549 square meters modern space with modern, in some way surrealistic architecture.  The original house was built in the 20s, then renovated. The owner wanted the soul of the old house to remain, so the house was rebuilt saving some old details. The new and old come together, in fact they are melted together. The old does not disappear, it is enhanced, and all shapes of the original are still there. The new reacts to it and explodes the space, and creates an interesting expression. Inside everything is modern but with a slight hint on the old times. The walls are decorated with simple light wood, the floor is dark. There isn’t much furniture to enjoy the architecture.
