The Kloof Road House is a unique family home situated at the foot of a natural reserve in Bedfordview, South Africa. Every room of the house opens outdoors, linking it to the garden. Morphed steel elements wrap around the frame of the house offering it a sculptural and eye-catching look. Steel, glass and concrete and the three major materials used for this project. The interiors are done in chic minimalist style, very laconic and eye-catching, and the color scheme is rather dark. In addition to being concerned about the functionality and aspect of the residence, the architects also focused on its energy efficiency. They integrated a water-based underfloor heating system connected to solar panels and a heat pump.
