If you’ve seen In Bruges movie with Colin Farrell you might already know this small town in Belgium. If no, then you should know that Bruges is a quite old town with a lot of old buildings. This small terraced house is one of them but it was recently renovated by 51N4E architects. The house is located in the historical center of Briges and it was a shop before the renovation. The double-height space, entirely covered in timber planks, starts off as an arch which gradually lifts asymmetrically towards the back, framing the tall tree of a neighboring garden. The old house is entirely renovated with partly new flooring and new colour schemes for façade, walls and ceilings. The custom made kitchen furniture with integrated fire place doubles as working area, becoming the new center of the house. The house features a generously lit winter garden. Its interior is a great example of how cool vintage and modern styles could be mixed.
