   Here in Colorado I’ve seen many attempts at creating modern log homes, and there is always something missing. This home does a great job of combining two drastically different styles in a unique and beautiful way (though a few larger windows might be in order to take advantage of our Rocky Mountain views). Nice work.

   Yes but this house in Spain, where the views presumably suck, so they don’t need such windows there. I bet the glass manufacturers and joiners in Colorado are making a fortune.

   I hate high-up fireplaces that leave 24 squares x 16 inches freezing cold, which is toes to knees territory.

   And those just-so-ly placed pashmina and satchel that keep migrating to wherever the camera will be next, and the magazines and slippers etc… cringe. By which I mean that this is a log cabin with a case of split personality. It should be robust, not a fussy and smooth as this one is on the interior detail, which the fussiness in furnishings points to and emphasises.

   I wish it were a rare aberration, this aspiration toward two hitherto contradictory things- logginess and minimality- and then all that tension swamped in a tide of bourgoise sacharine. So much for globalisation; the dilution and of all debridement of all that is potent in culture.
