If you want to know what tranquil and minimalist elegance is, this Copenhagen apartment, the home of Kinfolk magazine founder Nathan Williams, will show you. This is a calm and soothing space decorated and furnished with impeccable taste – a perfect example of Danish elegance.
The studio or home office is creative and inspiring: there’s a desk with a couple of chairs and mid-century modern lamps and lights. The parquet wooden floors and simple white walls create a great canvas for a large scale artwork and a photo collage in the corner that serve as sources of inspiration.
The dining room features a black dining set and a simple sphere lamp hanging over it. A beautiful ceiling and all white walls make the space calm and peaceful, no excessive detailing is the key to that.
The living room is also very laconic: the same parquet floors, white walls and a stucco ceiling look chic and calming; the accent is made with a vintage black sofa and a couple of dark coffee tables. An artwork is also very peaceful, and a fluffy rug is what gives texture to the room. You can see a lot of books everywhere, and here I’ve found the coolest way to store them: store them on the floor and add a mirroring metallic surface to accentuate them. This way you’ll turn a usual stack of books into a part o your décor.
