The ROWND drinks cabinet is a cool bar cart idea for a modern space, it's far from being usual
Bar carts haven’t come a long way as far as design goes yet many of us have them in our homes simply for function. Then there’s Welsh furniture and product designer Rowena Edwards, of FORYD DESIGNS, who has taken the idea and rolled on to a whole new level. Instead of the typical two-tiered cart on four wheels, she’s turned the wheels into the cart with the sleek ROWND drinks cabinet.
The drinks cabinet fits all of its storage within two large circular panels that double as the wheels. Between the wheels, a bottle holder and glass tray reside with a convenient tool pocket revealed when removed. On either side there are pockets to hold additional bottles.
The design is contemporary and rather unusual among all those traditional bar carts, it’s defnitely eye-catching. The oak cabinet is finished off with a bright yellow steel component that not only keeps the cart in place but it rotates up to act as the handle to pull it to another location. Clever and visually interesting, what an amazing idea to serve drinks!
