Sumptuous and richly detailed, the London apartment of Hannah Gurney also serves as testing ground for the family business—Gournay wallpaper. With the help of decorator Tara Craig, Hannah’s home has taken on a fresh and bucolic twist to traditional style.

It is a small apartment in South Kensington, an elegant London neighborhood. This apartment takes you in its colorful world from the entrance, this is something between a winter garden and fantasy jungle. All the statements are made with the walls: trees and bushes are blooming here, and a variety of birds worthy of a museum of natural history lives here. The decorator Tara Craig helped Hannah Gurney to compose this universe of strong colors and prints, where the furniture from the collections that Gournay develops today, tends to fade behind the munificence of the wall decorations; each room has its own atmosphere, let’s take a look at them all.

The living room is covered with green silk wallpaper that in spired by winter gardens, and the furniture perfectly matches: there’s a velvet sofa, some large Marcco lanterns and a bold neoclassic chair with yellow and floral upholstery. A fur rug and an emerald velvet floor lamp add texture and coziness.

The dining room is covered with green silk wallpaper of two shades, there’s a large mirror in a vintage frame, a simple dining set and some artworks inspired by glaciers. A refined vintage chandelier adds charm to the space.

In the guest room the walls are covered with green silk wallpaper with a floral motif. There’s a bed with a custom upholstered yellow headboard and a mirror in a unique 18 century inspired frame. An antique dresser and a leaf lamp adds a vintage feel to the space.

The master bedroom is done with wallpaper with bird and floral prints, it has a metallic effect. The be is upholstered with green velvet, there’s a mirror in a refined vintage frame and a wicker chair to visually soften the room and make it more casual. Lilac velvet curtains finish off the look of the room making it decadent and lush.

The bathroom has another eye-catchy feature: it’s covered with fish wallpaper, even the shower zone, but there it’s treated to resist moisture. There’s an elegant glass layered table by the shower space.
