This modern, open and welcoming space perfectly characterizes its owners, a married couple, who is seriously interested in sports, especially skiing. They often go to Austria, love this country, especially its Alpine part, so their wish was to have an Austrian-themed interior.
The style chosen for the apartment is industrial chic, with grey and bold green touches that remind of the mountains. Concrete is one of the most widely used materials here: several walls, the kitchen island, several shelves are covered with it, and its calm grey color creates a perfect backdrop for emphasizing different bright spots and textures. Light-colored wood was also used for décor, to add a cozy touch to the industrial space and to create a contrast with cold concrete. Several brick walls highlight that it’s an industrial space and give it an eye-catchy look.
The living room is a large open space merged with the kitchen, there’s a soft modular sofa, a comfortable wooden chair with a rustic feel and a coffee table. A bioethanol fireplace and some firewood stored just for décor add a warm feeling and remind of warming up by the fire in the mountains.
The kitchen area has a concrete island, cabinets built-in into a green cube, there’s a rustic pallet with open shelving and herbs growing. There are a lot of buil-in appliances not to clutter the space. There are foldable glass space dividers that enlarge the space and connect the bedroom and the kitchen area.
The master bedroom is a calm space with floor to ceiling windows and green and purple accents. It’s combines with a small home office nook, the desk may be also used as a vanity.
The bathroom is industrial, clad with concrete and with a warm wood wall to make it more inviting. The planning is simple, functional and creative throughout the whole apartment.
