These are usually a living room and a bedroom but you may choose anything that is important to you. Focus on quality over quantity, even if you don’t have enough money, you may buy some things later. Here are some lists of must-haves for every room that may help you.
General Shopping List

Second, every room should have at least two lighting fixtures. These can be pendant lights, an overhead lighting fixture, wall sconces, table lamps, floor lamps and even built-in LED lighting. Choose any of them that you like and buy all the lighting fixtures for your home at once to create a flow.

Entryway Shopping List
Any entryway needs a narrow console, a cabinet or a bench, then a mirror and some wall hooks. Your bench or console will be a universal catch-all for all the things you have, choose one with a storage space or at least tall legs to tuck in some baskets for shoes. A mirror allows you to give yourself a check when you’re coming and going and expands a small space visually. Wall hooks are perfect for organizing your jackets, bags, backpacks and scarves.

A coffee table or an ottoman is ideal for serving drinks or placing books and magazines, it should be next to your sofa. Plain walls are a common thing for a living room, and filling one or several of them with artworks is a great idea – it will add interest to the room. There’s a plenty of options from your own photos to tapestries. A TV cabinet is a must for rooms with a TV, and if there’s no TV, opt for bookshelves or keep the space unfilled as negative space is always a good idea.

For a kitchen or dining space, a row of cabinets and a table and chairs are a must. Cabinets and maybe a kitchen island are a minimal setup for cooking if you cook, add a sink for washing up. If you have a large kitchen island, take a part of it for a dining area, just add chairs. If not, splurge on the table and look for secondhand chairs if you can’t afford both, the table is a centerpiece here. A taller table setup can serve as your dining and breakfast table, food prep and storage spot and mini office space.

Bedroom Shopping List
For a bedroom, you’ll need a bed, a nightstand or two and a closet or an item for storing your clothes, any that you like. Invest in the best and most comfortable mattress you can afford, it will provide comfortable sleeping. Then choose a couple of nightstands that fit your room style and the amount of space you have, don’t bother matching the pieces, mismatched nightstands are a hot trend. If you don’t have a separate closet, put a wardrobe in your bedroom or if there’s not enough space, opt for a makeshift closet with some boxes or bins for smaller things. Wall shelves and hooks are also welcome, such shelves and makeshift closets are great for a small bedroom and create an airy feeling.
