The fall is almost here and there’s nothing more necessary now than a coat rack because we all need to store coats, scarves and beanies. There are a lot of simple ideas but this coat rack is nothing of that kind, it’s very special and its design is striking and genius.

Italian-Danish duo GamFratesi, have designed a modular coat hanger that is inspired by the classical dance of the Waltz. Taking note of the lightness of the steps of the ballroom dance and the rotations the dancers make, the designers made the modular piece curve, and appear to dance on the wall.

The hanger is made from several pieces of looped wood that can be joined together to make longer or shorter fittings as needed. The loops are created by steaming and bending rounded lengths of wood, which set into place as they cool. Upward-facing loops can be used for coats, while umbrellas or scarves can be hooked around the downward sections. The coat hanger is made from bent beech wood and can be arranged in a variety of lengths, depending on the amount of space available. This is cool idea that is suitable for any modern entryway, simple and genius.
