This flat in London is located within a Georgian townhouse built in 1860 and despite keeping many of the original period details, ARCHITECTURE FOR LONDON made it look clean and contemporary. The project reconfigures a first floor flat to provide an open plan kitchen in the living room, allowing the creation of an additional bedroom. The damaged original floorboards were also sanded and soap stained to restore their original attractiveness. In the kitchen, a carrara marble bench top and splash back matches the period style fireplaces in the opposite side of the room. The bathroom features beautiful herringbone tiled walls and an underfloor heating with fog free mirrors.
