Unusual Liquid Light As A Still Life Reinterpretation

Unusual Liquid Light As A Still Life Reinterpretation

Kristine Five Melvær reinterprets a classic still life theme in Liquid Light, a unique lamp inspired by the Cobbler’s Lamp from the 17th Century. The lamp consists of a birch wood plate holding a glass carafe and a brass socket for a candle. When the carafe is filled with liquid and the light is lit, the carafe works as a lens that amplifies the light. The designer was inspired by Japanese culture and tried to create Norwegian objects that could also be relevant to Japanese living. This is a wonderful piece to light your table during long evenings and nights. A very unusual concept though very interesting and inspiring.
