This stylish boys’ bedroom is a project by the family behind The Bumper Crop that they have done by themselves. The room features cool DIY hanging beds inspired by Ana White that not only look good but are also very practical in terms of space saving. The beds are hanging from the walls with thick rope from metal hooks and also bolted into the wall. The bed lines are from Ikea. Near each bed battery-powered LED lights are installed. These lights were outdoor lights and now they can be turned on/off with a button. These beds and lights aren’t only things that are done in this room by the family, but they show how you can design the room stylish and practical without spending a lot of money on furniture.

I love this idea so much I may ask it to marry me so I can spend the rest of my life with it! We have three boys sharing a room and have been trying to come up with a solution for fitting three beds in without looking like military barracks. Is there a picture of the single bunk side from the other side? I can’t wait to show my husband what he’ll be building this weekend! :)

Do the kids ever fall out of bed? I would recommend a rail. (If these were sold commercially, a rail would be required.) Please also know that knots in rope can reduce strength significantly: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rope_splicing
The rope is probably strong enough with half the strength anyway….
