Seating furniture combined with book storage is a very practical trend which become more and more popular. Swedish design students, Emma Nilsson, Johanna Westin and Lisa Frode has designed a contemporary version of the common kitchen sofa that follows this trend. The old and traditional kitchen sofa is usually the favorite place in Sweden homes and the new design offers additional features to it. The storage space for books and magazines is located on the back of the bench. Besides, there is storage space for other stuff under the seat which is separated into two parts allowing for easy access and organization. The bench is crafted out of locally produced swedish pine, indigenous to the nordic regions, with elm wood detailing. It’s a perfect solution for contemporary open plan living areas.
