CRAFT 2.0: Modern Table Made With Antique Technologies

Craft2.0 Modern Table Made With Antique Technologies

Why not apply centuries-old furniture technique to a tough contemporary table to achieve a fantastic result? Designer Renier Winkelaar has always had a fascination for old wood connection, especially the connections in old Dutch windmills, so he created furniture with a sense of quality, solidity and an emotional value, all that with a modern twist. This table is called “craft 2.0”, and the designer had two rules of thumb. He used only one material and no modern techniques like for example screws. The table of 230 – 270 cm is made of oak and is only to put together by old connections. There are gears and tooth hills to slide out the table. These gears are to operate by some kind of a ratchet, made from oak wood. The table is very original and looks antique and modern at the same time!
