Trex Wall Scone is a lamp designed by Karim Rashid for lighting manufacturer Itre. “I wanted to get out of the square and cylindrical shapes,” says Karim Rashid about designing it. The lamp heat-molded acrylic and features a hexagonal white lacquered metal base. The shape allows to connect several such lamps together to achieve a truly unique look. When it’s on it seems to slowly pulse with gentle variations of light intensity. That is achieved by placing two different types of circline flourescent bulbs in it, one 22-watt and one 40-watt. The flat metal base mounts to both wall and ceiling.
