Silk was brought from China and it was so expensive that only some people could afford clothes made of silk. Today the prices are not so high and designers took silk to produce various things, for example, a chair. Alvi Design presented the Silkchair. The chair is made of FSC-certified oak with a back and seat created using silk thread strung through the frame. The chair looks like a harp and creates the effect of weightlessness. The design is very simple and genial, it will easily hold a person and the threads won’t deflect as they are made of silk. By the way, it’s eco-friendly as the materials used for production are natural. Would you like to sit on silk?
