This floating house is styled like a real boat both inside and outside
Big style can be effortless in a small living space, like in this floating home just outside Vancouver’s central business district. Its picture-perfect nautical boat look includes port hole windows and bright red and blue accents.
The walls inside are white, while the floors and ceilings are covered with warm woods. Inside, several thematic pieces of artwork, like a red and blue sailboat and a textured red canvas, continue the nautical feel of the space and accentuate the room’s high ceilings. The look is also echoed in tiny details like a bright red tea kettle and knotted rope print bed sheets. The extensive use of warm-colored wood in inner decor makes the house cozier and comfier.
The 300 square-foot space is small but highly efficient. The kitchen has everything you need with an oven, stove, sink, fridge, and toaster, as well as chic space-savers like a magnetic knife strip. The sitting room combines comfy chairs with a small dining table and bright red stools; there are several windows to be opened to get a perfect view of the harbor.
There’s also a full bathroom and lofted bedroom. The bathroom is small but stylish, it’s accentuated with turquoise accents that again remind of the sea. The lofted bedroom has round windows and a roof that can be opened to enjoy fresh air and sunlight, it’s so sea-like and so relaxing!
The space makes use of its harbor address with two red Adirondack chairs on the pier. You can easily imagine sitting here, strumming the guitar hung inside, and watching the sunset over the water.
