The owner of this house wanted to live in a house just like a renovated warehouse. The ALTS Design Office decided to build a new house like a renovated warehouse pursuing diversified and productive open spaces.
The ground sits between old residential area and new land for sale in lots. And it’s an area enclosed by residential roads. The architects made a building like an existing warehouse at first, and designed it carefully as if the client renovated it. The ALTS Design Office could take account the durability and the environmental burden because of new construction. In addition to that, we could add temporal complexity as if it were an existing building.
They made a white-cube inside the building and put rooms needed privacy inside the cube. In doing so, the architects valued the connection of the inside and the outside. There was built a split level house, and dare to make non-exclusive rooms on floor planning. The designers created open spaces so that the client can arrange them to suit the lifestyle.
As for decor and furniture, it’s simple, modern and industrial, you can see lots of natural wood, metal, leather and concrete, and some just accessories, which are very durable. The designers also used reclaimed wood to save on the budget and create that warehouse look. The shades of warm wood are dominating over the interiors, there’s much blackened metal and some brown and white touches – everything looks natural and welcoming,
