Concealing the wires in plain sight is a good idea to make the look of your room nice in just a couple of seconds, and this is a very renter-friendly idea to make the room more stylish. The easiest way is to put a stack of books where the cords go, and voila! You may also hide the cords in a cord management box, a hollow mantel or some other pieces like a box or a basket.

Put TV Wires In Wire Tubes

This one’s honestly the unsung hero of quick-fix cable solutions. I found out about wire tubes when I was trying to clean under the TV console and realized I’d created a spaghetti nightmare of cords over the years. It was so bad, I couldn’t even tell which cable belonged to what anymore — not ideal when you’re crawling around behind furniture trying to unplug the soundbar and accidentally kill the Wi-Fi.

So I ordered a flexible cable management sleeve — you know, those plastic-y or fabric tubes that zip or wrap around your cords — and it instantly made everything look neater. If you go with the sticky-back kind that attaches to the wall, you can even guide the cords in a straight line down to the outlet and paint the tube to match the wall. I used a white one against our white wall and it’s practically invisible now.

Just make sure you cut it to the right length — I made the rookie mistake of leaving it too long and ended up with a weird coiled snake of plastic hanging behind the TV. Not chic.

Moral of the story? Wire tubes are cheap, easy, renter-friendly, and way better than playing cord Tetris every time you want to dust.

Hide TV Wires In A Faux Wall

Okay, so this was one of those “why didn’t I do this sooner?” moments for me. I used to just stare at the ugly cords hanging below the TV like they were mocking my attempts at minimalism. Then I stumbled across a DIY faux wall idea on Pinterest and thought — why not?

I grabbed a few pre-stained wood slats from the hardware store, borrowed a nail gun (thanks, neighbor Mark), and built a simple panel that framed the TV and sat just slightly off the wall. Behind it? Wires. Gloriously hidden. You could also use peel-and-stick wood panels or even a thick piece of foam board wrapped in fabric if you’re renting — just lean it against the wall and boom, instant polish.

The best part? You can match the wall panel to your décor. Think cozy slatted wood for a Scandinavian look or sleek matte black for something modern. It turns the TV into a design feature — and hides that messy jungle of cables without a trace.
