Unique Calibre 32 Stools Inspired By Hyrology

Calibre 32 is a stool by Richard Yasmine that’s inspired by horology and ancient Lebanese civilization. As part of a series of 10 stools designed by various designers for Squad Design with the constraints that they need to be made out of wood and designed to fit inside a 35x35x35cm cardboard box. Translated to mean “the process of time,” it hearken back to a time of age-old architecture and traditional tiles — where shapes, patterns, structures, materials, and colors combine into one. Composed of 32 different elements, the stool consists of many, differently-sized wooden pieces that form the base and the top using vintage joinery. Together, the thirty two separate pieces become one. It is a request to society—to urge people to united despite different religions, communities, mentalities and doctrines keep the wheel moving to improve.
