Charming 18th Century Duplex With Chic Minimalist Interior

Restored houses are amazing because the outside often remains the same – stylish, old and charming, and the inside becomes modern and cozy. Michael Herrman, principal of French studio Ateliers Michael Herrman, renovated an 18th century building in Place de la Madeleine, Paris. Partly the charm of the old interior remained – original limestone walls and the oak beams but some modern features were added – transparent glass floor, super modern fireplace and cool furniture like wrapped coffee tables, mirror tables with lighting and chairs. White was chosen as the main color to widen the space and bring light in. Chic minimalism and charm of the old architecture – that’s a success!
