This Bainbridge Island beach cottage sits right on the water with views of the Seattle skyline and Mount Rainier in the distance. It was built in 1915, but after extensive renovations, it looks like a new house inside yet outside it preserved that special retro charm and coziness, it looks very inviting. Inside the house is beautiful mix of a traditional beach cottage and a modern eye-catchy one. Dramatic great room concept with a top of the line gourmet kitchen flowing out onto a lovely deck and sandy yard are perfect for entertaining, it’s an interesting decision to open the entire house up like this. It gives it a more dramatic look and probably feels a bit bigger and brighter this way, but they did sacrifice a lot of upstairs floor space.
The main décor color is white, it reflects light and expands the space visually being a perfect background for any bright spots and beach-inspired accessories, and also thanks to it the cottage keeps that old-fashioned beach house look. The accents are made with pale aqua color and some seaside shades like various blue and turquoise tones. Kitchen mixes black and white but still looks rather traditional and cozy. The windows are rather large and again left traditional, they take the best from the seaside views. The house can also boast of lots of a chic garden outside and vine plants that cover one of its sides for a fresh look; there’s a comfy terrace, a garage and guest house behind the cottage.
